Tony "G" Giron, (bass), George "G Sharp" Montes, (guitar and vocals), and Carlos "C Sol" Perez, (lead vocals), all hail from Pico Rivera, the center of the Latin population in Los Angeles. While in El Rancho High School in Pico Rivera, they played together as budding young musicians and songwriters. After graduating they joined forces in mid-1995, when they got serious about their music and formed Brown Bag. Their relentless pursuit of the "Right Sound" has led them down a long road of trial and re-trial through rehearsing, showcasing and recording that has culminated in a classic style that is the trademark of their group.

When East L.A. producer Billy Cardenas brought Brown Bag to Bob Keane at Del-Fi Records, Keane said, "This group reminds me of Ritchie Valens because they sing with such heart, in both Spanish and English. Their songs, their sound, and their musicianship is unmatched in today's music scene. I believe they will be the first Latin rock group from Los Angeles in this millennium to become national stars."
