Bob Keane Orchestra - Big Band Bash
Before Keane was a music biz entrepreneur, he toured the West Coast with his own big band. He eventually took over the leadership role in Artie Shaw's band. This 1951 album (featuring Keane's own “Boogie For A Nickel” along with "Begin The Beguine", "The Lady Is A Tramp", "Isn't It Roamntic" and more) is one of the best late-era swing records of all time.

Verrill Keene - An Afternoon Affair
Combining fuzz guitar, clarinet and saccharine sweet strings (arranged by the late Gene Page), this album of “Sensualist Jazz” and bachelor pad makeout music was performed by members of Phil Spector's famous “Wrecking Crew,” and even features Barry White on drums! Check out “Chanelle's Theme.”

Eden Ahbez - Eden's Island
In 1948, Eden Ahbez wrote the autobiographical "Nature Boy" - Nat "King" Cole's first crossover hit. He continued to write and sing his offbeat music, captured here on Del-Fi's 1960 release Eden's Island. His bizarre mix of exotica, '50s pop, and Beat-era lyricism was probably unintentional genius. One of Del-Fi most sought after titles.

V/A: Rarities - Lost Treasures

These 24 tracks of Del-FI effluvia – “wicked R&B twist and Jungle Exotica, flavored with a touch of Vegas Lounge” -- features re-mastered rarities, B-sides, and un-issued insanities by a handful of unknowns, including Bob Ridgley, Yo Yo Hashi, and the Nite Hawks “Chicken Grabber.”

V/A: Rarities - Jungle Jive

When it comes to these 18 tracks of kitschy exotica, lounge and otherwise “lost treasure” novelties we found in the vaults, Keane's famous “open door policy” seems especially eccentric (even by early 60's standards). There are sublime moments too: check Keane's own “Swahili.”
